Marvin

Marvin is playful and complicit, a portrait in refreshing blues and subtle warmth. Brushstrokes sweep loosely, layered with compact marks that suggest the meeting of sunshine and rain. Words fall from above on to Marvin: 'cold, warm, hot rain' - his innermost thoughts perhaps, or something completely separate?

Impulsive touches bring the surface alive, as though Marvin is quietly sharing a joke with the viewer. Unpainted edges contrast rawness with polish.
